I could not figure out where the hits were coming from, but looky here: Research for Reenactors links to some previous posts here (in the days before Frivolous Friday).

If you are a beginning reenactor, or someone who wants to refresh your presentation, I think this librarian’s guide is a good one. There’s excellent logic in the tabs and good suggestions. Thank you, Laura, for including me, and for such a wonderful resource.

  1. I’m rather surprised that anyone found it so quickly! I just put the website up! I’ve been trying to mash up my two sets of interests for a while (because I think they benefit each other) and it has taken time to figure out how I could set things up to best help the regiment.

I have to thank YOU though. If I hadn’t been following your blog as long as I have I don’t think I would have progressed as far as a reenactor. Your regular contributions to the community really help all of us quite a bit. No pressure!

Thank you for the compliment. What I like about the website you put together is that it addresses the fundamental differences in the nature of research that reenactors do, and helps both sides of the reference desk achieve a common goal: find that elusive thing!

I believe in teaching people how to do research, and in a librarian’s amazing abilities to track things down. But the ‘why’ of looking is as important as the ‘what’ and the ‘where,’ so well done!
